Event Map

Registration/Packet Pickup opens at 6:00 a.m. on event day! Please see below for optional early packet pick up information.

Wave Starts: To provide all participants a fun and safe experience, we will be starting the GOTR 5K in waves. This is to help prevent overcrowding on the course and to give all runners space to move at their Happy Pace as they complete the 5K. We ask that Public 5K participants please line up first at the start line, followed by GOTR girls and Running Buddies. Volunteers will be staggering groups in the start corral and paying attention to participants that want to be sure to start together.

Better Together: We are celebrating our council’s 20th Birthday at this event with a Friendship Bracelet Exchange. If you want to join the fun, we encourage you to make and bring bracelets to give to/exchange with other runners and volunteers as symbols of our connectedness.

Inspiration Station: If she can see it, she can be it. The Inspiration Station is a very special part of our event expo that shows girls that they truly have limitless potential, that they can dream big and that if they work hard, they can reach their goals.

To do this, we invite a small group of extraordinary women in a variety of careers to be part of our GOTR 5K Dream Team. This team of women will spend time chatting with the girls (and any other attendees who want to visit!) and serve as examples of girls who chased big dreams and succeeded. Participants can also enter to win drawings in this area and participate in other fun activities. This is a can’t miss part of Girls on the Run 5K day! Click here to learn more about the Inspiration Station and this year's incredible Dream Team.

If the event photographers took any pictures of you, they will be linked in these results. If you have a girl in the program you will want to search using her Running Buddy’s bib number/name.

As girls from across the Valley come together with public event participants to achieve their goals on 5K day, they will be depending on volunteers like you to help them shine! Now recruiting: event volunteers, cheer zones and sparkle runners!

* Volunteer registration will close by April 12, 2024 or earlier if all spots are filled.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS
Assignments Include: Set up, take down, registration, fun zone, finish line, aid stations, course support and information.
Teams: Gather fellow students, friends, group members, colleagues etc. to form a volunteer team! If you are interested in forming a team, your team captain should please click on “I’d like to create a team button” during registration and follow the prompts. Once the team is created it will show in a drop down box at the top of all registration forms for other team members to select. If you are participating with a team please be sure to select your team name during the registration process.

CHEER ZONES
We are also looking for groups to serve as cheer stations along the course. Gather 5 or more people from your family, company, community organization, group of friends or team, and help to provide the one-of-a-kind positive energy, excitement and celebration that makes the Girls on the Run 5K so special. Some suggestions: create a theme for the station, dress up, play music, use noisemakers, make signs etc. Our goal is to hopefully fill the course with positive energy and encouragement for all participants and for them – and you all! - to be inspired and have a lot of fun in the process. We ask that before you sign up to reserve a zone that you please confirm that you have at least 5 people available to be in your assigned position on the course from 7:15 - 10:00 a.m.

SPARKLE RUNNERS
If you would like to run with the girls, this is for you! Be a moving course marshal and provide gentle encouragement and support to all our girls along the run. A Sparkle Runner is an adult female who runs the 5K and cheers on all of our girls as they head towards the finish line! Some Sparkle Runners may be paired with an individual girl to run the whole 5K with, while others will be asked to cheer on all the girls along the course and others asked to help to serve as sweepers. You may come across a girl who got separated from her Running Buddy, is too fast for her Running Buddy, or just needs some extra encouragement! IMPORTANT NOTE: Sparkle Runners will be asked to complete a background check in order to serve in this role. And Sparkle Runner registration will close at least one week prior to the event - or sooner if all spaces are filled.
To become a Sparkle Runner, please click here to register for our 5K and select "Sparkle Runner" as your event category.
